The present research intends to understand the food culture of the Cristóbal Colón de Cereté educational community, Córdoba, from the point of view of social representations. The methodology used is qualitative-hermeneutical, with an intentional non-probabilistic sample defined by 9 students, 5 teachers and 5 parents. The instruments used for this study are: participant observation, documentary review, interview, questionnaire, mental maps and photographs. The results indicate that the social representations of food are associated with the components of health, nutrition, energy and life, which shows that they are positioned in the paradigm of natural sciences and biomedical discourse, which guide eating behavior, giving it sense and meaning to its social reality.
