Resumen en inglés
Banana is a profitable agricultural resource for the producing countries around the world, after rice, wheat and corn. In Colombia, the banana sector plays an important role in the national economy and in the producing regions, especially in Urabá where all commercial activities revolve around the business of producing and exporting bananas. The objective of the business practice was to get to know the different cultural tasks in the field and monitor it, to improve the quality of its execution, on the other hand, follow up on the test of the relationship between the leaf area and the weight gain of the bunch, on the Porvenir farm, from GRUPO SANTAMARIA S.A.S in the Urabá region. For the evaluation of the field work, formats supplied by the company were used in order to record each operation, to determine the relationship of leaf area to production determinations were made of the leaf area of the leaves in the acorn phase and in postharvest the weight and number of hands per bunch. The monitoring, evaluation and analysis of the work was essential to obtain fruits with the requirements for the international market. Likewise, the leaf area of the plant was directly related to the weight gain of the bunch.
