Resumen en inglés
The practice of violence commonly referred to as "social cleansing" consists of a systematic process of social extermination towards subjects considered undesirable or residual in modern society. This research is framed within the discourses on social cleansing contained in El Meridiano de Córdoba. Therefore, the main objective is to describe the discourses on social cleansing, contained in the press archive of el Meridiano de Córdoba newspaper, based on the relationship between vulnerability and mourning in the socio-political context of the department of Córdoba from 1995 to 2005, operating from Foucault's archaeological methodology which consists of a historical trace, within a specific space and time of the conditions that make possible a discursive formation. The use of this theoretical and methodological framework allowed in addition to making visible the social cleansing during the aforementioned period which coincides with the paramilitary preeminence in Córdoba, to understand how social relations were fractured to the point of considering lives worthy of mourning and deaths well spent from El meridiano discursive networks which, among other things, allowed and legitimized paramilitary practices towards the vulnerable population in the department. This dynamic responds to a discourse of counterinsurgency and global security order that is adopted in our national/local context by the hegemonic elites and state institutions as an acceptable socio-political and moral standard. Finally, social cleansing can be read as a project of social impositionrecomposition and a moral economy in which society must remain in canons that do not refute the logics of the dominant power.
