The series of ISO (Internacional Organization for Standardization) 9000 Standards is a tool to develop a Quality System in companies, based on a descriptive, application design, using the projective research model, the research team set out to develop the structure of strategic planning within the system of quality management under ISO 9001: 2008 for an IPS, as a competitive strategy of the organization. The results show that the strategic platform considers compliance with the 8 principles of quality under the ISO 9001 of 2008, the activities and tasks of the mission and support processes required to maintain the quality of care were identified and graphed in health, which are presented in flowcharts. Indicators designed to measure compliance with quality management in efficiency, effectiveness and effectiveness were designed. The final conclusion is that ISO 9000 and 9001 are susceptible to apply completely to the strategic planning of health companies for the purpose of continuous improvement of their quality processes.
