The development of this study was carried out with the purpose of identifying which are the educational activities that are developed as part of the care of patients with cerebrovascular accident. Objective. Describe the approach to educational activities that are developed as part of the care of patients who have suffered a cerebrovascular attack, in research articles published in the period 2014 - 2019. Methodology. Integrative review of the literature, with a descriptive approach. The search began using the keywords and descriptors, combining them with the Boolean operator AND, 11 articles indexed in five databases subscribed to the University of Córdoba were selected: Pubmed, Lilacs, Academic Google, Scopus and Embase, published in Spanish. English and Spanish, this research was carried out according to the methodological recommendations made by Whittemore and Knafl. Results. The databases with the highest results were Lilacs with 36.36% and Pubmed with 27.27%. Regarding language, English has a percentage of 81.82% and Spanish 18.18%. In the research, three categories were identified in which the informal caregiver 72.73%, the patients with stroke 18.18% and the formal caregiver with 9.09% are considered as subjects of care, these subjects were intervened in the hospital and home environment. 63.64% of the studies presented a quantitative methodology, with the randomized controlled trials standing out. Conclusion. By using adequate education strategies for patients and caregivers in the hospital setting, it allows appropriate care to be continued after discharge, which will favor the improvement of the patient and the safety of the family member, in addition to preventing complications.
