The main objective of this research is based on the deficit presented by the 7th grade students of the Escuela Normal Superior high school from Montería, in terms of textual comprehension. Therefore, the implementation of a didactic proposal that points to the strengthening of textual comprehension through the use of multimodal texts to increase the rate of enjoyment and improve the intertextual skills of students for their significant learning. This proposal was developed within the framework of the critical social paradigm, with a qualitative approach based on the action research method, taking into account techniques such as: the didactic sequence, participant observation and surveys, as well as instruments, such as journal notes and questionnaires with the purpose of collecting information that is pertinent and contributes to the strengthening of textual comprehension. With the application of this research proposal, it was possible to understand the impact that the use of multimodal texts brings to students, based on the application of a system of didactic strategies (sequence) for the textual comprehension of secondary school students. The positive results show that the proposal fulfilled which was stated in our objectives. Finally, it is essential that the teaching of reading should be approached from didactic proposals that aim to improve this competence. otherwise, we would not only cause a setback as teachers, but also directly contribute to the decline of the educational system
