Therefore, it is necessary to design procedures that comply with the standards established by the Ministry, especially in the area of billing, which is the financial backbone of any entity that provides health services; procedures that guarantee timely communication with the entities that generate the payments for the services offered. Objective: to design a contingency plan for medical records in the Lomas Verdes Integral Fracture Clinic in the municipality of Lorica. Methodology: application of a checklist based on the health accreditation manual. Results: With the design of the contingency plan, accreditation standards 150 are complied with. Code: (GI9) that contemplates the management of information related to clinical records, whether in physical or electronic media, guarantees quality, safety and their accessibility and standard 151. Code: (GI10) There is a contingency plan designed, implemented and evaluated that guarantees the normal operation of the organization's information systems, whether manual, automated, or both. Any dysfunction in the system is collected, analyzed and resolved. This includes mechanisms to prevent adverse events related to the management of information systems, especially alarms in medical records. Conclusions: compliance with health regulations is essential in the process of continuous improvement by allowing the adoption of strategies that guarantee adequate management of information, custody and preservation of medical records and that contribute to patient safetyPublicación Acceso abierto Mejora del proceso de gestión documental en el área de archivo del Instituto de Investigaciones Biológicas del Trópico (IIBT)(2020-11-20) Majul Fernández, José Ángel; López Bernal, Cristian AlbertoLos laboratorios públicos o privados que presten funciones con fines de investigación o diagnostico a las personas, para su funcionamiento deben estar sujetos a los lineamientos técnicos y legales establecidos por la normatividad vigente. Dentro de sus actividades las instituciones tienen el deber legal de proteger la información personal de cada usuario y todos aquellos datos que comprometan la identidad y resultados obtenidos. Para ello se implementó el método observacional teniendo en cuenta lo estipulado por la Ley general de archivos. Se logró realizar la implementación de mejora del archivo y gestión documental para el laboratorio. En el análisis estructural del área de archivo y gestión documental del IIBT, evidencia la existencia de malas prácticas archivísticas por el desconocimiento de la Ley general de archivos y demás normas concordantes, asimismo por la ausencia de insumos indispensables para la gestión del archivo y documentos
