Resumen en inglés
This research focuses on developing random and metric thoughts in eighth-grade students of the Liceo Pupo Jiménez school in the municipality of Monteria-Córdoba through the implementation of a virtual learning environment based on an instructional design model, which, is It is made up of five phases, which are: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE). The study was carried out under a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, with pre-test, post-test, and control group. The pretest and posttest were applied to both groups, but only the experimental group was intervened with the designed strategy. The analysis was carried out using the free version SPSS software, with the use of the parametric tests, the student's t-test, and the non-parametric Mann Whitney and Wilcoxon U tests, among the results obtained in the pretest, a low level of performance was observed in the tests. communication, mathematical reasoning, and problem-solving skills; while in the experimental group it was evidenced in the post-test that these skills improved significantly (p <0.05). This result allowed us to conclude that, after the intervention, the students of the experimental group achieved better levels of performance in the mathematical competencies of the random and metric evaluated thoughts.
