| spa |
dc.description.abstract | The objective of this research is to determine the thermoregulatory strategy of Leptodactylus fragilis in three areas with different levels of urbanization (urban, peri-urban and rural) in Montería, Córdoba. For this purpose, the thermal quality of the habitat, precision and thermoregulatory efficiency were evaluated by recording field body temperature (Tc), operative temperature (To), based on biophysical models, and preferred temperature (Tpref). The latter under experimental conditions in a thermal lane. The results indicate that L. fragilis exhibits predominantly thermoconformational behavior, with low thermoregulatory efficiency in all three zones. However, thermoregulatory accuracy was higher in peri-urban environments, where 84 % of body temperatures were within the preferred range, while habitat thermal quality was higher in the rural zone. In contrast, the urban zone showed the highest body temperatures, lowest thermal quality and lowest proportion of individuals within the optimal thermal range. These differences reflect the influence of urbanization on the thermal ecology of the species. It is concluded that L. fragilis is strongly dependent on the thermal environment, and that the conservation of the structural and microclimatic heterogeneity of the landscape is key to its survival in altered urban environments. | eng |
