Resumen en español
The Social Enterprises of the State (E.S.E) constitute a special category of public, decentralized entity, with legal status, its own assets and administrative autonomy, created or reorganized by law or by the Municipal assemblies or councils to provide health services, as is the case of the E.S.E CAMU Santa Teresita de Lorica-córdoba. These entities provide their services following the guidelines established by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and one of these guidelines is that these entities manage to accredit their outpatient and hospital health services with a focus on the implementation of processes based on Patient Safety. For this reason, it is necessary to design and implement processes that meet the standards established by the Ministry, especially in the clinical laboratory area, which is one of the areas that is directly related to Patient Safety based on the results of the tests. exams delivered to them and therefore the delivery of said results must be guaranteed with timely communication mechanisms, especially the delivery of critical and altered results, which are exam results that can express an alarm situation that puts the patient’s life at risk, if not they are intervened opportunely and adequately; hence the importance of immediately informing the patient or the health professional responsible for the patient. As a result of the above, this study presents the design of a protocol for the delivery of critical and altered results of E.S.E CAMU Santa Teresita de Lorica-córdoba, which constitutes a tool for continuous improvement of ESE processes, directing it to achieve accreditation in Standard 28 code AsPL6, which is one of the standards required in the Manual of Accreditation in Ambulatory and Hospital Health in Colombia.
