This project was carried out in order to know the diversity of the genus culex in some municipalities of the department of Córdoba with high transmission of the Dengue virus, having as main objective, the recognition and identification of these species in breeding sites of Aedes aegypti. 5 municipalities were visited for the collection of immature stages in hatcheries and habitats in different houses in urban areas, which consisted of checking containers, tires and cement tanks that house larvae and pupae. We collected 130 immature Culex among larvae and pupae that were allowed to continue with their biological cycle until their adult stage and later with the help of dichotomous keys their identification was made registering 3 species of the genus Culex which were: C. quinquefasciatus, C. interrogator, C. coronator. Highlighting the cement pools and buckets the most frequent breeding sites, these species being important from the epidemiological point because they are frequent in these urban areas and for vectorial capacity of agents and transmission of diseases to man and animals.
