Currently, the practice of physical exercise in older adults is still feared, for fear of injury, despite having proven that its proper performance prevents the symptoms associated with Sarcopenia, such as geriatric syndrome that affects skeletal muscle function. Thus, the present investigation entitled: "Benefits reported by strength exercises, to attenuate the effects of Sarcopenia in the elderly population", had as main objective to determine the benefits of strength exercises, in the delay of symptoms of Sarcopenia, in a group of elderly people from the city of Montería. The search for information included research carried out in the last ten years, by different authors, on the problem analyzed under the predictors: Sarcopenia, older adults and strength exercises. The methodology was based on a quasiexperimental study, with a quantitative approach, while for data collection a pretest was carried out based on the variable of prehensile strength, muscle mass and functional performance, a sample of 36 adults was used. older than 60 years, selected randomly and according to the inclusion criteria established by the EWGSOP. The analysis of the results showed a significant improvement at the functional level and skeletal muscle, firstly, in men, from the sixth week, and then in women in the eighth week, the feasibility of strength exercises to attenuate the symptoms of Sarcopenia in the elderly population was finally concluded.
