Thus, the present investigation entitled: "Benefits reported by strength exercises, to attenuate the effects of Sarcopenia in the elderly population", had as main objective to determine the benefits of strength exercises, in the delay of symptoms of Sarcopenia, in a group of elderly people from the city of Montería. The search for information included research carried out in the last ten years, by different authors, on the problem analyzed under the predictors: Sarcopenia, older adults and strength exercises. The methodology was based on a quasiexperimental study, with a quantitative approach, while for data collection a pretest was carried out based on the variable of prehensile strength, muscle mass and functional performance, a sample of 36 adults was used. older than 60 years, selected randomly and according to the inclusion criteria established by the EWGSOP. En las actuales revisiones se ha podido identificar los efectos que tiene la actividad física sobre la Sarcopenia; sin embargo, es limitado el acceso a estas revisiones que hayan indagado sobre los efectos que trae la actividad física sobre la Sarcopenia en el adulto mayor. Propósito: Analizar las evidencias actuales sobre los efectos que trae la actividad física en el adulto mayor con Sarcopenia. Metodología: Se realizó una búsqueda en bases de datos que hablarán sobre la actividad física en el adulto mayor con sarcopenia que incluían Science Direct, ProQuest, Scopus, SciELO, PubMed, Dialnet, Google Académico, REDIB y Portal Regional de la BVS. Posteriormente se analizaron 70 estudios de los cuales incluían estudios de revisión sistemática y metodología cuantitativa y cualitativa. Hallazgos: De los 70 estudios pre-seleccionados se incluyeron 30 estudios. Los 30 estudios expresan que con la implementación de actividad física se podría lograr un beneficio en la prevención y disminución de la Sarcopenia en el adulto mayor, además de que también podría traer beneficios en el aumento de la masa muscular, fuerza muscular y el rendimiento físico. Algunos estudios terminan agregando que la actividad física junto con una adecuada suplementación se podría obtener mejores resultados. Conclusiones: Los estudios evidencian que la actividad física termina siendo una estrategia efectiva contra la Sarcopenia, en gran porcentaje de los estudios señalan que ciertos tipos de actividad física como aeróbica, fuerza o combinada se logran resultados positivos y su vez mejorando su rendimiento físico y la calidad de vida.
