Introduction: Suicide is a public health problem that affects all regions of the world. According to the WHO, in 2019, suicide was the fourth leading cause of death in the 15 to 29 age group worldwide. Although preventable, public investment in awareness and prevention is scarce. The factors that influence suicidal thoughts or ideas in adolescents are of a social, personal, and familial nature. Social determinants can influence suicidal thoughts or ideas in adolescents. The presence of a psychiatric disorder is intimately linked to suicide. Objective: To describe the social determinants of suicidal behaviors in adolescents in the city of Montería. Methodology: Analytical, correlate and prospective study, with a quantitative approach. Results: The study revealed that adolescents have a high suicidal risk according to the Plutchik questionnaire, taking into account structural and intermediate social determinants, with psychosocial intermediate social determinants having a greater influence. Conclusion: This research focused on the social determinants of suicidal behavior in adolescents. It was identified that the intermediate social determinants of a psychosocial type had a greater association with the suicidal behaviors that appeared in adolescents, in addition, a predictive model of suicide risk was prepared with 78% accuracy.
