La seguridad del paciente se define como el conjunto de elementos estructurales, procesos, instrumentos y metodologías basadas en evidencias científicamente probadas, que buscan minimizar el riesgo de sufrir un evento adverso en el proceso de atención en salud, o mitigar sus consecuencias en caso de que suceda. Se diseñó la política de seguridad del paciente en una institución de salud, de primer nivel de complejidad, con el propósito de ofrecer una atención segura, donde se establece el alcance, estructura y metodología (fundamentales en la ejecución de los procesos asistenciales o administrativos); teniendo en cuenta los servicios que tiene habilitado la institución de salud. Esta política de seguridad del paciente, permite identificar las fallas y/o errores que conllevan a la ocurrencia de un evento adverso, asimismo contribuye al aprendizaje organizacional mediante el fomento de una cultura de seguridad del paciente y fortalecimiento de las barreras durante la atención en salud.
Abstract in english
Patient safety is defined as the set of structural elements, processes, instruments and methodologies based on scientifically proven evidence, which seek to minimize the risk of suffering an adverse event in the health care process, or minimize its consequences in case of what happens The patient safety policy was broken in a health institution, of the first level of complexity of care, with the purpose of offering a safe one, where the scope, structure and methodology (fundamental in the execution of care or administrative processes) are established. ); taking into account the services that the health institution has enabled. This patient safety policy allows the identification of failures and/or errors that lead to the occurrence of an adverse event, it also contributes to organizational learning by promoting a culture of patient safety and strengthens barriers during health care.
