dc.description.abstract | This report describes my national internship carried out at Santa Clara de Asís School, in Ana Rodríguez de Vidal campus a rural primary school in Monteria, Colombia. The internship aimed to enhance vocabulary learning among twenty learners from fourth grade through gamification. Recognizing their learning needs and challenges in language learning, the internship explored how factors such as motivation, interest, and interactive games and tasks combined with a gamification and task-based learning approach influence their ability to acquire English vocabulary. Gamification was implemented as the main approach to enhance vocabulary learning, making it more contextualized, and enjoyable. This strategy resulted in increased student participation, and the promotion of collaborative learning. Furthermore, incorporating task-based learning, scaffolding methods, and learner-centered strategies, along with a greater emphasis on problem-solving activities, ensured that lessons aligned with students' needs and preferences. These methods collectively demonstrated significant progress in fostering a more dynamic and supportive learning environment, tailored to encourage active student involvement and practical skill development. Employing gamification and task-based learning strategies significantly enhanced students' ability to retain vocabulary while also boosting their enthusiasm for learning English. dc.description.abstract | Este informe describe mi pasantía nacional llevada a cabo en la Institución Educativa Santa Clara de Asís, en la sede Ana Rodríguez de Vidal una escuela primaria rural en Montería, Colombia. La pasantía nacional tenía como objetivo mejorar el aprendizaje de vocabulario entre veinte estudiantes de cuarto grado a través de la gamificación. Reconociendo sus necesidades de aprendizaje y desafíos en el aprendizaje del idioma ingles, la pasantía exploró factores tales como motivación, interés, juegos y tareas interactivas combinadas con un enfoque de gamificación y aprendizaje basado en tareas influyen en su capacidad para adquirir vocabulario en inglés. La gamificación se aplicó como enfoque principal para mejorar el aprendizaje de vocabulario, haciéndolo más contextualizado y ameno. Esta estrategia aumentó la participación de los estudiantes y fomentó el aprendizaje colaborativo. Además, la incorporación del aprendizaje basado en tareas, los métodos de andamiaje y las estrategias centradas en el alumno, junto con un mayor énfasis en las actividades de resolución de problemas, garantizaron que las lecciones se ajustaran a las necesidades y preferencias de los estudiantes.Estos métodos demostraron colectivamente un progreso significativo en el fomento de un entorno de aprendizaje más dinámico y de apoyo, adaptado para fomentar la participación activa de los estudiantes y el desarrollo de habilidades prácticas. El empleo de estrategias de gamificación y aprendizaje basado en tareas mejoró significativamente la capacidad de los estudiantes para retener vocabulario, al tiempo que aumentó su entusiasmo por aprender inglés. Este informe de prácticas está organizado en diferentes partes, como los resultados y logros relacionados con el proceso de aprendizaje de mis alumnos, el progreso personal y el crecimiento profesional. | spa |
