dc.description.abstractHospital waste and the like are those products generated from health activities, with the characteristic of being potentially contaminating as they have been used in clinical treatments, making them risky for both healthcare, administrative and general services staff as well as patients and visitors; hence the need to carry out a literary review in the Scopus, ScienceDirect and Embase databases of the scientific production (articles) associated with this topic during the period between 2015 - 2020; taking into account indicators such as the total number of articles published per year, number of citations received, main journals, average number of citations per year, name, country and institutional affiliation of the most cited authors; The foregoing will be useful for the academic community when conducting an exhaustive review of the subject that will allow evidence of its evolution and management over time. This qualitative systematic review has as its unit of analysis the publications (articles) identified with the descriptors Medical AND Waste; Health AND Care AND Waste; AND Waste Hospital. In addition, the Excel tool was used for data processing. The analysis of the literary review carried out concludes the important role of health institutions, hospitals, clinics, laboratories and the like in the management of their hospital waste, as well as the relevance of continuous training in these organizations for all collaborators in order to create social and environmental awareness. This study aims to contribute to the field of environmental management from the Health Administration of the University of Córdoba, and serve as a consultation for students and teachers and in the same way promote research.eng

dc.description.resumenLos residuos hospitalarios y similares son aquellos productos generados de actividades sanitarias, con la característica de ser potencialmente contaminantes al haber sido utilizados en tratamientos clínicos convirtiéndolos en riesgosos tanto para el personal asistencial, administrativo, de servicios generales como también para pacientes y visitantes; de aquí la necesidad de realizar una revisión literaria en las bases de datos Scopus, ScienceDirect y Embase de la producción científica (artículos) asociada a esta temática durante el periodo comprendido entre 2015 – 2020; teniendo en cuenta indicadores como el número total de artículos publicados por año, número de citas recibidas, principales revistas, promedio de citas por año, nombre, país y filiación institucional de los autores más citados; lo anterior será de utilidad para la comunidad académica al realizar una revisión exhaustiva del tema que permitirá evidenciar su evolución y manejo en el tiempo. Esta revisión sistemática cualitativa, tienen como unidad de análisis las publicaciones (artículos) identificadas con los descriptores Medical AND Waste; Health AND Care AND Waste; Hospital AND Waste. Además, para el procesamiento de los datos se utilizó la herramienta Excel. El análisis de la revisión literaria realizada concluye el rol importante de las instituciones sanitarias, hospitales, clínicas, laboratorios y similares en la gestión de sus residuos hospitalarios, así como la relevancia de la capacitación continua en estas organizaciones para todos los colaboradores con el fin de crear conciencia social y ambiental. Con este estudio se pretende aportar al campo de la gestión ambiental desde la Administración en Salud de la Universidad de Córdoba, y servir de consulta para educandos y docentes y del mismo modo fomentar la investigación.spa
