The objective of this work was to provide an exergy analysis of biogas production from biomass, through a simulation of the anaerobic digestion process through the Aspen Plus program, theoretical data on biogas production could be obtained through the digestion process. A thermodynamic model was selected that is already included in the program called NRTL (Non-Random Two-Liquid model). Said method correlates and calculates on the basis of molar fractions and activity coefficients for different components, facilitating liquid vapor equilibrium. (Serrano, 2011). Biogas production represents a key process for the country's energetic variety, since it allows to reuse / reconvert industrial by-products or agro-industrial waste into a product that can be used in different energy-demanding sectors, after adequate cleaning and conditioning. Through the exergetic analysis, an efficiency of 55.2% was obtained in the process with a destruction of exergy of 3749.72034 kW
