Publicación Restringido English language teaching intership at educational Institution ‘Victoria Manzur’(2023-02-23) Rodríguez Medina, Katerine; Nieto, JaimeOver the years a variety of useful methods have been implemented to improve the learning process in schools and inspire students to learn, but becoming a good teacher means being in constantly changing, adapting and transmitting passion to the students. Becoming a teacher is being involved with student´s needs, motivation, fears, it is also an opportunity to demonstrate that making small changes, you get great results, changes such as inspiring students through gestures, activities, showing concern for solving problems in society, changing the voice tone when teaching, providing variety of ways of getting good scores, motivating them, putting on practice team work etc. all of these small changes in teaching are important for helping the students to feel in confidence with the teacher and familiarized with the subject. The aim of this internship is encourage the students in the participation of oral production, for achieving this purpose a proper strategy will be suggested; the use of Task Based Learning. This strategy acts in favor of creating a winsome and enjoyable atmosphere in which students could improve their English level and their oral participation, not only inters of grammar but also in communication. Besides that, the improvement of classroom management was another objective in this process, through effective’s strategies to ensure that student reaches a long-term solution of a social problem and can reflect about it. Furthermore, training teachers based on the suggested curriculum was another objective as pre-service teacher that allowed me to gain experience working with adult’s teachers.Publicación Acceso abierto Internship at Cristobal Colon School(2020-11-20) Marulanda Arrieta, Emanuel; Nieto, JaimeThe purpose of this report is to highlight the positive and negative aspects of my professional and personal experiences obtained during an internship process at the Cristóbal Colón School located in Monteria-Córdoba as an English teacher. This internship intended to enhance sixth grader's vocabulary and oral competence through different approaches and strategies, Using a WhatsApp group, online classes through different apps, and the institutional platform. The approaches/strategies implemented were communicative language teaching, flipped learning, gamification, and task-based language teaching. Additionally, a lesson plan is described. To finish, this report highlights conclusions, the recommendation and limitations of the whole experience.Publicación Acceso abierto A Mentoring-based approach to enhancing speaking skills through vocabulary and grammar in first-semester students at the University of Córdoba(Universidad de Córdoba, 2025-06-25) Pérez Machado, Maria Angélica; Sanchez Cuello, Jhon Jairo; Nieto, JaimeEng: This internship report reflects on my experience as a mentor for first-semester students in the Bachelor’s Degree in Foreign Languages at the University of Cordoba. The goal was to help them strengthen their communicative skills, particularly in speaking, by focusing on vocabulary building, grammar reinforcement, and personalized feedback. Many of these students struggled with expressing themselves in English, which often affected their confidence and participation. Through weekly mentoring sessions, I perceived not only linguistic improvements but also a boost in motivation and confidence. This experience reaffirmed how meaningful peer support can be in academic life, especially during the early stages of university. The report highlights the impact of guided mentorship in reducing academic challenges and promoting engagement in language learning.
