This monograph seeks to expose the current situation of mental health, suicide and public policies on mental health and suicide prevention in Colombia, making a tour of the different official statistics and the different public policies existing in the country, with a view to achieve a broad perspective on the subject, this because it is not a secret that one of the problems that most disturbs societies in general today is suicide, although this is an extremely delicate subject and although no one knows for sure what happens within the mind of a person and the way in which it interprets certain situations, since it is a very complex issue when trying to understand it from an outside perspective, it is possible, as indicated by medical centers, to obtain clues, clues that should be taken as warning signs in order to prevent as many suicidal acts as possible and that is where entities should undoubtedly enter of the state and also the private ones.
