dc.description.abstractLas lianas son un componente importante en los ecosistemas, porque aportan a la estructura y las dinámicas ecológicas de los bosques tropicales, ayudando a mantener la biodiversidad. En este trabajo se llevó a cabo el estudio sobre los aspectos taxonómicos y ecológicos para este grupo de plantas trepadoras leñosas en la cuenca del río Sinú. Se elaboró la primera clave taxonómica a partir de caracteres vegetativos para seis familias de lianas (Apocynaceae, Aristolochiaceae, Sapindaceae, Fabaceae, Bignoniaceae y Menispermacea), registradas en el área de estudio, que permite la identificación de los ejemplares en ausencia de material fértil, en campo y en Herbario; y una revisión bibliográfica inédita con más de 1000 artículos consultados, sobre los síndromes de dispersión para determinar cómo se propagan sus diásporas en los bosques secos, húmedos y sus transiciones de la cuenca. Se encontró que el principal síndrome de dispersión que se presenta entre los grupos de lianas analizados en toda el área de estudio es la zoocoria seguido de anemocoria y autocoria. Se evidencia el papel fundamental que están desempeñando estas plantas para la fauna del departamento de Córdoba.spa
