dc.description.abstract | El bagre blanco Sorubim cuspicaudus tiene potencial para diversificar la piscicultura en Colombia, pero su reproducción en cautiverio enfrenta problemas como asincronía en la maduración y bajo volumen seminal en machos. La láserpuntura, es una tecnología que se está utilizando para acelerar la maduración gonadal y mejorar la calidad seminal, mediante un láser blando aplicado en acupuntos reproductivos. El objetivo del estudio fue evaluar la maduración testicular y calidad seminal de bagre blanco sometido a láserpuntura a diferentes densidades energéticas. Se trataron con láser de He-Ne de 17 mW a diferentes tiempos de exposición: 10, 20 y 25s, lo cual generó diferentes densidades energéticas: 0.85, 1.7 y 2.1 Joules (J/cm2). El láser se aplicó en el acupunto reproductivo, localizado en la 2/3 parte de la región ventral, una vez por semana durante un mes. Se compararon con un grupo sin láser (control negativo) y machos maduros en estanques (control positivo). Al final, todos fueron inducidos con Ovaprim® y se evaluó la calidad seminal y la capacidad fecundante. Solo los machos tratados con 2.1 J/cm² alcanzaron madurez testicular y produjeron semen, con parámetros similares al control positivo (p>0.05). Los resultados sugieren que la láserpuntura acelera la madurez testicular y produce semen de buena calidad y con capacidad fecundante cuando se estimula con una densidad energética de 2.1 J/cm2 con un tiempo de exposición de 25 s una vez por semana durante un mes. | spa |
dc.description.abstract | The catfish Sorubim cuspicaudus has the potential to diversify aquaculture in Colombia; however, its reproduction in captivity faces challenges such as asynchrony in maturation and low seminal volume in males. Laserpuncture is a technology used to accelerate gonadal maturation and improve semen quality by applying a low-intensity laser at reproductive acupoints. The study aimed to evaluate testicular maturation and semen quality of white catfish subjected to laser puncture at different energy densities. Were treated with a He-Ne low-laser (17 Mw) at different exposure times: 10, 20 and 25 s. The laser generated different energy densities 0.85, 1.7 and 2.1 Joules (J/cm2). The laser was applied to the reproductive acupoints at 2/3 of the ventral region once a week for one month. Treated fish were compared to a group without laser (negative control) and to naturally mature males in earthen ponds (positive control). At the end of the experiment, all fish were induced with Ovaprim® and their semen quality and fertilization capacity were assessed. Only males treated with 2.1 J/cm² reached testicular maturity and produced semen, with parameters comparable to the positive control (p>0.05). The results suggest that laserpuncture accelerates testicular maturity and produces good-quality semen with fertilizing capacity when stimulated with an energy density of 2.1 J/cm2 with an exposure time of 25 sec once a week for one month. | eng |
