dc.description.abstractLa gingivoestomatitis crónica felina (FCGS) es una enfermedad inflamatoria oral prolongada y dolorosa, de origen multifactorial, relacionado con disfunción de las células T, por causas infecciosas y no infecciosas, como virus, bacterias, reacciones de hipersensibilidad, condiciones ambientales y estrés. Este reporte evidencia el manejo médico-quirúrgico que se le dio a la FCGS en paciente felino mestizo de 8 años, positivo para FIV. El tratamiento médico utilizado, tuvo respuesta favorable con recidivas; a medida que transcurrió el tiempo, el paciente mostro signos de FCGS no responsiva a corticoides, por lo cual se realizó la extracción dental parcial (PME), dando como resultado una mejora significativa en los signos clínicos del paciente y mejorando su calidad de vida.spa
