According to the World Health Organization - WHO (2016), work stress "is the reaction that an individual may have to work demands and pressures that do not match their knowledge and abilities, and that test their ability to cope with situation". A descriptive and cross-sectional investigation was carried out; because it allowed to detail the incidence of the Covid-19 pandemic in the work stress of health workers, through the measurement of the variables of interest. The study was carried out at the facilities of the IPS Salud Tierralta SAS, where the universe was made up of the entity's workforce, and the sample was taken with a simple random sampling, since all workers had the same probability of being chosen. The sample consisted of 20 health workers who work in the IPS Salud Tierralta SAS, it was found that the average age of these workers is 32 years, with a standard deviation (SD) of ± 7.96 years, the minimum age was 22 years, while the maximum was 51 years. It was found that 70% of IPS workers are emotionally exhausted from their work, 80% claim to feel tired at the end of the working day. It was found that 30% presented medium stress, followed by those who had a test score of 60, which meant high stress (20%) as well as those who showed mild stress (20%), 5% considered that they presented high stress, those who are recommended to seek help, the rest (25%) do not presented any stress. The mental health of health professionals in the exercise of their functions is compromised by the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, with professionals on the front line of battle against the virus being particularly affected, but with values below those of the general population.
