To analyze the social representations of a group of men who practice the nursing profession in the city of Monteria, department of Córdoba. MATERIALS AND METHOD. A qualitative, descriptive, exploratory research was carried out; oriented from the theory of social representations proposed by Moscovici and the content analysis technique proposed by Bardin was used for the analysis of the information. Given the current conditions of the pandemic, the participants were accessed through social contacts, using the snowball strategy. This study conducted 17 semi-structured interviews using the Google Meet platform with 13 nurses, between 26 and 53 years of age, with more than 5 years of work experience. RESULTS. Three categories of analysis emerged from this research: The perception that nurses have of the presence of men in the profession; gender stereotypes associated with the presence of men in nursing and the sexual division of labor in a feminized profession. CONCLUSION: The presence of men in the nursing profession has configured a series of social representations around their masculinity, in this study it was possible to show how the social representations of nurses are marked by gender discrimination, most of the participants They report having been excluded at some point in their working life, for the simple fact of being men, wit
