Publicación Acceso abierto Efecto de los procesos de soldadura al arco en las propiedades mecánicas y microestructura en aceros de alta resistencia y baja aleación(2020-09) Corrales Rhénals, Jorge Alejandro; Chica De Aguas, Jorge Eliécer; Unfried Silgado, JimyThe arc welding processes generate microstructural changes in the welded metals due to the contributions of heat, this leads to changes in the mechanical properties. In this monograph we sought to study the effect generated by these processes on the mechanical properties and microstructure of the joints, and to correlate this effect as an indicator of the weldability of these materials. Different investigations were analyzed in which the influence of various arc welding processes was observed, changing multiple parameters of the processes, as well as the heat inputs generated during welding on different high strength and low alloy steels (HSLA). According to the analysis carried out, it was found that there is a correlation between the type of microstructure and the mechanical properties and these depend directly on the heat input to which the material is subjected during the welding process. It was also possible to determine that the little variation in mechanical properties and microstructure are a clear indicator of the good weldability of these steels.Publicación Acceso abierto Efectos de la entrada de calor durante el proceso de soldadura en la resistencia a la corrosión de aceros de alta resistencia y baja aleación(2020-11-05) Díaz Hernández, Carlos Mario; Díaz Cordero, Yerlis Patricia; Unfried Silgado, JimyIn this monograph was studied the effect caused in the microstructure and corrosion resistance by the heat input generated in the welding process in high strength and low alloy steels, a review which some samples of HSLA steels were welded or failing that, a heat treatment was applied in those was done in order to perform microscopy, lineal polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and some others corrosion techniques to study the electrochemical behaviour of the samples. According to results that different author have achieved was concluded that the corrosion resistance of weld joints depend on microstructural heterogeneity product of heat input in the weld process, so in conclusion, the corrosive attacks are highly possible to be concentrated in microstructures which has no homogeneity in its phases, usually the HAZ is zone who present the most microstructural variation in comparison with othersPublicación Acceso abierto Influencia de la entrada de calor por procesos de soldadura en la tenacidad y resistencia a la fractura de aceros de alta resistencia y baja aleación(2020-12-19) Naranjo Vásquez, Luis José; Ruíz Tenorio, Isabela; Silgado, Jimy UnfriedIn this monograph, the effect that the heat input generated by fusion welding processes in high-strength and low-alloy steels has been studied on the microstructure and on the fracture toughness and impact resistance. A bibliographic review including articles, research works and scientific reports was carried out where these steels were welded with different processes and / or the thermal cycles suffered by a welded joint were simulated through thermal treatments and software that recreated these conditions. Afterwards, by means of optical microscopy tests, scanning electron microscopy, hardness and microhardness tests, Charpy impact resistance tests and CTOD fracture toughness tests, among other techniques the steels were characterized and evaluated on the welded zones and sub-zones, in especially the heat affected zone of the base metal, where the greatest variation of microconstituents was concentrated. According to the results, it was determined that the toughness and the fracture behavior are subject to microstructural changes due to the heat input from the welding processesPublicación Acceso abierto Microestructura y aplicaciones de aceros inoxidables martensíticos tratados por nitruración y cementación a plasma(2021-09-24) Puche Ojeda, Carlos Daniel; Espitia Sanjuán, Luis ArmandoIn this monograph, a comparative study regarding to the microstructural changes and engineering applications of martensitic stainless steels treated by nitriding and plasma carburizing reported in the literature is carried out. The changes in the microstructure and the chemical composition of the steels achieved by these thermochemical treatments are discussed by means of material characterization techniques, such as: optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, optical emission spectroscopy of luminescent discharge, among others. It was found that these nitrided and carburized martensitic stainless steels are mainly used for wear resistance and corrosion resistance applications.
