Publicación Acceso abierto La escuela como sujeto colectivo en el conflicto armado: el caso de la comunidad educativa de Villanueva (Valencia, Córdoba) abordado desde un enfoque de memoria histórica(2021-04-04) Márquez Banda, José Luis; Arteaga Arteaga, Lizeth Dayana; Taborda Caro, Alejandra; Yunis Marulanda, JuanaIn the last years, there has been a surge in research focused on understanding the dynamics and impact of the armed conflict in the state of Córdoba, Colombia. Likewise, at the national level, there seems to be greater awareness on the importance of enhancing our understanding of how the armed conflict has particularly affected school communities. However, this continues to be an under-researched filed, with almost no precedents in Córdoba. This research intents to respond to this void through a study focused on the rural school community of Villanueva, Valencia. Moreover, this research offers conceptual and methodological innovations in the sense that it suggests that schools should be understand as “collective subjects”. Methodologically, the research involves two levels: the author‟s involvement in a participatory research related to collective memory, and an analysis carried out through a historical memory approach. The study concludes that the Villanueva school community has been affected in multiple ways and that its collective action repertoires can be understood as examples of resilience but not of resistance. Likewise, this work argues that Villanueva should not be understood as an isolated case, but rather as a case that is representative of the logics of paramilitary social control, whereby, while blood was being spilled and terror was imposed, some communities in Colombia were captured by them and received material benefits as part of a strategy of legitimation and territorial control.Publicación Acceso abierto Imaginarios sociales de la comunidad educativa de Villanueva en Valencia, Córdoba con relación a la presencia paramilitar 1982-2006(2020-11-13) Espinosa, Angie; Restrepo Valencia, MarlenyThe intention of this research is to know the social imaginaries that were being configured in the educational community of the Villanueva district, in Valencia-Córdoba, taking into account that the area was involved in the AUC paramilitary presence during the years 1982-2006. In this sense, a qualitative methodology is applied in which primary instruments such as interviews, autobiographical approaches, graphic drawing techniques and social cartography are used, to a population of former students, former teachers and parents of the time, who were part of the aforementioned educational community in the established period of time, these instruments were applied individually and in groups to a total sample of 25 people. There is also the use of secondary sources, such as the history of one of the most important schools in the area that was founded by the leaders of the armed group in a book version (not yet published) and photographs of the time. On the other hand, the design of the objectives and the methodology of the project are sustained under the light of Cornelius Castoriadis theory of social imaginaries, which is supported by Durkheim's theory of collective representations and the theory of social representations of Serge Moscovicci, respectively. In addition to that, a contribution is made from the conceptual perspective of historical memory that emerges in the search for truth and the social meaning of work with the community. The results showed that the paramilitary group assumed the roles of the State in the Villanueva district, therefore, the prosperity and economic dependence of the population, but above all the great permeability of the group over the educational sector, will account for a differentiated social imaginary, dependent on some characteristics and bonding qualities of certain sectors of the educational community that tend to legitimize mostly some prominent individuals of the armed group and to reject others, and in some very particular cases, to reproach their presence and actions towards community. Based on the conditions in which this research proposal was made, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was necessary to adapt the methodology and especially the application of the instruments, which required reinventions with the help of technology.
