Communication and information technologies, however, have become hope amidst pandemic, as they have allowed the teaching and learning process to be developed. Remote education during pandemic has been the topic of many researchers to uncover the essence of teachers’ lived experience from various perspectives. However, little has been done on exploring the lived experiences of L2 teachers in school contexts. The purpose of this study was to explore the lived experiences of English educators with online education in a public school in the department of Cordoba, Colombia. This study employed a descriptive phenomenological design. The researcher collected the data through in-depth, semi-structured interviews and reflective diaries. The data was analyzed through Colaizzi's phenomenological seven steps. The study found that remote education during Covid-19 implied encountering multiple mixed feelings and perceptions that were mostly associated with Covid-19’s obstacles. The integration of ICTs, however, served as a bridge amidst pandemic’s hurdles to allow the continuity of the teaching and learning process. This integration as result, provided new opportunities to discover new technological considerations and to enrich the participant’s life and professional aspects. This study highlights the transcendence of the participant’s perception towards the lived experience and the significance of ICTs in the adaptation process of moving from a physical modality to virtual spaces.Publicación Acceso abierto A phenomenological Study of the experiences of Foreign Language Educators in Times of Pandemic(2022-02-03) Cuadrado Hernandez, Valentina; Sanchez Orozco, Valentina; Aguas Castillo, Pedro PabloThe unforeseen arrival of the covid-19 virus brought for the educational sector abruptive changes that resulted in switching from face-to-face classes into remote teaching. The purpose of this phenomenological research was to explore the perceptions of three foreign language teachers in a specific public university in Colombia during Covid-19 pandemic times. This study involves the five steps of Giorgi's method for phenomenological analysis. The data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews, and a reflective diary. Five themes emerged from the data: 1) Awareness of the need to respond to unexpectedness in teaching, 2)The face of loneliness in the classroom, 3) The despair at not being able to play a pedagogical role, 4) The goodness of practice within an unusual teaching reality,and 5) The longing for change in education. Through snowball sampling, the experience of family caregivers of children with visual disabilities was explored, relatives who have an age range between 25 and 49 years, mostly female and who work as housekeepers, who have 1 or more visually impaired children, these experiences were exposed during an interview, which due to the Covid-19 pandemic mutated in relation to the face-to-face experience of it, thereby favoring comfort and protection of the health of the participants. It was possible to conclude that the main caregivers are the mothers, who are in charge of the responsibility of caring for the minor with disabilities, which is greater compared to those children who do not have this condition, which leads to physical and emotional exhaustion, secondary to care and the economic effects that it entails, finding support in their faith, however, it is necessary to strengthen the support network of caregivers, in order to avoid negative consequences in their lives.Publicación Acceso abierto Experiencias de cuidado en usuarias atendidas en la urgencia obstétrica de una institución de salud de segundo y tercer nivel en la ciudad de Montería, 2023(2023-03-01) Peña Maldonado, Daniel Alberto; Vertel Machado, Lerny; Yánez Martínez, Lorena Leidith; Orozco Valeta, Martha; Herrera, EugeniaEn el contexto de los cuidados brindados en urgencias obstétricas, “la forma como se cuide a la gestante durante el proceso de trabajo de parto va a condicionar el progreso del mismo de manera positiva o negativa” . Desde la academia hay gran compromiso en mejorar la calidad del cuidado de enfermería para la población de mujeres gestantes que tanto han padecido hasta ahora. el objetivo de este estudio es describir las experiencias de cuidado recibido por un grupo de mujeres atendidas en la urgencia obstétrica de una Institución de Salud de Segundo y Tercer Nivel de la ciudad de Montería. como conclusión se pudo identificar que la mujer no se visualizó como la protagonista de su propio proceso, por el contrario, se evidencio la cosificación de las mismas durante el trabajo de parto, parto y postparto. La información recibida por parte de las encuestadas no era la que esperaban, algunas veces recibían la información, pero no de forma asertiva y clara, algunas no entendían lo que se les trataba de decir y otras veces simplemente no respondían sus dudas. El parto es una experiencia única en cada mujer, es un proceso natural en el cual se ven confrontados distintos sentimientos y emociones, estos pueden ser positivos, pero también negativos.Publicación Acceso abierto Fostering students communicative skills and self-confidence through emotional support In the mentoring program(Universidad de Córdoba, 2024-01-22) Padilla Romero, José Daniel; Vega Calao, Yina MargaritaThis paper focuses on reporting the process of “Fostering Students Communicative Skills and Self-confidence Through Emotional Support in the Mentoring Program” at Universidad de Córdoba in Montería. This process was conducted with 10 students attending their first semester in Communication I and Grammar I courses, with the goal of helping them accomplish their desired results and boosting their confidence. Having very insightful and holistic sessions each time was key in order to help them to reinforce the content learned in their subjects. In this specific internship, there are a lot of professionals providing the guidance and training that mentors need along the process to fully equip them so that they can be effective role models and provide the best experience for their mentees. This is a student-centered approach where the mentees are the main focus of the program and all the other participants adapt to their needs, but the mentees have also to adapt to the strategies proposed in order to fulfill the expected outcomes. The purpose of this internship program is to help increase the score of undergraduate students taking the Saber- pro test. Besides, it helped me to get experience teaching English young adults and also to improve my English skills as an English teacher. Several pedagogical concepts were addressed in this paper to develop the teaching and learning process effectively. Since these pedagogies are primordial for the designing of the unit and lesson plans implemented during this process. Moreover, the experience gained through this process helped me to have a practical experience in teaching undergraduate students from different degrees at the University of Córdoba. Finally, being a teacher is a profession that involves going through many challenges such as motivation in students, maintaining interest, incorporating new technologies, evaluation mechanisms, etc. However, it is worth promoting learning in students despite there are certain limitations that surround students such as internet connection and electronic devices.Publicación Acceso abierto Nivel de efectividad de la funcionalidad familiar en mujeres que han experimentado cáncer de mama(2020-10-26) Barrios Villalobos, Alba Inés; Chamorro Parra, Indira María; Ripoll García, Luz DaryIntroduction: Cancer is a disease that generates alterations in people's bodies, but it could also have the particularity of affecting the functionality of families. Objective: To determine the level of effectiveness of family functionality in 25 women who have experienced breast cancer, belonging to a support network in the city of Montería, Colombia. Method: Descriptive-cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach. Data collection was carried out through the application of a sociodemographic survey designed by the researchers and the “scale of evaluation of the effectiveness of family functionality” in its free version in Spanish by Marie Luise Friedemann, which facilitated the evaluation of 20 items that they make up dimensions and goals that together make up the family functionality. Results: Participating women are aged between 33 and 84 years, with 28% being between the ages of 44 and 53; they live in the low-low stratum (52%), married (36%), living with partners and children (44%), technical education level (40%) and spirituality (84%) is the most preferred support network. The evaluation of the dimensions of the family system showed high levels of system maintenance (84%) and changes in the system (48%), but individuation (60%) and coherence (48%) reported intermediate levels; The goals, on the other hand, reflected intermediate levels of growth (60%), spirituality (64%) and the goal of stability (72%) and control (64%) was located at a high level Conclusions: 80% of the participants have a low level of effectiveness of family functionality, followed by 20% whose level is intermediate, results that indicate the need to work on the dimensions of individuation and coherence and on the goals of growth and spirituality to achieve effectiveness in the family system.Publicación Acceso abierto Percepciones de los docentes de una institución privada de la Costa Atlántica sobre la implementación del modelo pedagógico institucional, incluyendo sus prácticas de aula(Universidad de Córdoba, 2022-03-25) Ramos Buelvas, Keila; Aguas Castillo, Pedro PabloLa necesidad de estudiar experiencias en el contexto educativo justifica el abordaje metodológico de investigaciones que generen mejoramientos en el accionar pedagógico. Por tal motivo, el propósito de esta investigación fue explorar las percepciones de los docentes de una institución privada de la Costa Atlántica sobre la implementación del modelo pedagógico institucional, incluyendo sus prácticas de aula. La iniciativa metodológica del estudio se instaura en el enfoque cualitativo con un diseño fenomenológico trascendental. Se utilizaron técnicas de recolección de información como entrevistas en profundidad realizadas a cinco participantes, además del diario del investigador que facilitó la aplicación del Bracketing. Los resultados obtenidos se dan a conocer en los temas emergentes extraídos de los datos provistos de los participantes, mostrando como esencia de la estructura fundamental del fenómeno: la sensación de verdad y mismidad, conciencia de una adhesión en obsolescencia, sentido de aceptación y ser, conciencia de valor y entidad viva, sentido de enardecimiento y entrega, fuerza de la transformación y trascendencia al otro.Publicación Acceso abierto Satisfacción laboral en la prestación de servicios en docentes de tiempo completo, adscritos a la Facultad de Ciencias Básicas de la Universidad de Córdoba(Universidad de Córdoba, 2020-11-20) Brunal Rodríguez, Marcela Elena; López Hernández, Estivinso; Torres Sierra, Dayana Cristina; Plaza Gómez, María TrinidadLos docentes hacen parte de los activos más importantes de la academia, el recurso humano es que mueve y pone en práctica los servicios de una institución educativa, siendo importante la eficiencia fundamental en el desempeño de los mismos, y a su vez hace relevante la satisfacción con la que realizan su trabajo, un docente satisfecho dará mejores rendimientos y eficacia en los procesos que lidera y/o desempeña. El siguiente trabajo no solo busca identificar factores de satisfacción e insatisfacción laboral docente de la Facultad de Ciencias Básicas (FACIBAS), si no también proporcionar un análisis de causas basada en previas investigaciones y facilitar un plan de acción, contribuyendo con la mejora continua de FACIBAS en la institución y ser un modelos para otras dependencias de la misma
