Publicación Acceso abierto Distribución, mecanismos de escalada y usos de seis especies de lianas (ASTERACEAE) en Colombia(2021-11-29) Ossa Aguilar, Liseth Paola; Carrillo Fajardo, Merly YenedithIn Colombia, the Asteraceae family occupies the fifth place in liana diversity (around 80 species), many of them are widely used by peasant and indigenous communities; In addition, they provide food to some insects (Hymenoptera, Diptera, among others), and 2 participate in the retention and stabilization of the soil. Despite their importance, lianas (Asteraceae) are poorly documented and studies on functional traits associated with the altitudinal gradient are scarce. In this work, a bibliographic review and virtual collections of national and international Herbariums are presented, through which the altitudinal distribution patterns, climbing mechanisms and uses of six lianas along the Colombian altitudinal gradient were determined (Ageratina gracilis (Kunth) RMKing & H.Rob., Baccharis inamoena Gardner., Lasiocephalus doryphyllus (Cuatrec.) Cuatrec., Lepidaploa canescens (Kunth) Cass., Mikania hookeriana DC. and Oligactis volubilis (Kunth) Cass.). An altitudinal distribution pattern of the richness of the species was observed in the form of a hump, the climbing mechanisms were simple, petioles sensitive and fickle, the latter being the one that predominated. The number of publications where the uses of lianas are mentioned was higher for B. inamoena. It is confirmed that altitude is a determining factor in the distribution of the studied lianas; as well as in the distribution of active climbing mechanisms. Most of the publications show that the species A. gracilis, B. inamoena and L. canescens are used by the scientific community to carry out researchPublicación Acceso abierto Estudio monográfico sobre obtención de aceites y material particulado para uso cosmético a partir de residuos como semillas, generadas en la agroindustria cordobesa(2020-12-01) Montes Aguilar, Vanessa; Montaño Castañeda, Mary CeciliaIn the world, many agro-industrial wastes such as seeds is generated, and these are used in different industrial sectors. In Colombia, these wastes are used in some cities that work in the agribusiness sector to promote their economy, converting this waste to a composting process or animal feed. Córdoba is one of the departments that works mainly in the agricultural sector to boost its economy, its productive experience in fruit crops is based on the biodiversity of crops such as soursop, guava, mango, papaya, passion fruit, pineapple, citrus, medlar, sapote coastal, among others. The main benefit that is given to this production is through exportation and processing to obtain pulps, which are then used to make juices, jams and other products; the waste generated, such as seeds, lack a final disposal that gives them added value in the cosmetic industry, due to the lack of innovation regarding the benefit that can be obtained from this type of waste. Research work has been carried out in the department regarding the benefit that can be obtained from the plant diversity that it has; but there are very few investigative reports on the use of residues as seeds of the Cordoba fruit agroindustry, which leads us to give a significant theoretical contribution to the community about how to give added value to these wastes, each of its both physical and chemical properties. That is why the interest in the use of agro-industrial waste in Córdoba, raises the compilation of information that leads to understand and value the composition and properties of waste such as seeds of typical fruits of the department, their applications in antioxidant, bactericidal and infectious treatments and potential use as exfoliating particles in the cosmetic industry.
