    Bilingualism for peace internship: my first approach to a second language, english

    In Colombia, teaching English is promoted on a mandatory basis, even though it is not taught correctly due to the lack of resources in public schools. As a consequence, there is a gap in the teaching-learning of the second language from the beginning of schooling. However, the internship process carried out in the Bilingualism for Peace program at the El Sabanal School consisted of teaching in-person and online classes to the students of the program with the aim of giving them the possibility of immersing themselves in their first contact with the language. English dynamically and provide them with the necessary support throughout the process. Therefore, this report describes my experience during my internship as an English teacher. To achieve this, I applied Task-Based learning to expand the students' vocabulary. Additionally, this document illustrates the findings and achievements related to the growth, personal improvements, and career advancement of my students.

    Fostering Students' Success in their Academic Performance through the use of T-Grow Model in the TBL in The Accompaniment and The Mentoring Internship

    The following paper reports the process of the “The Academic Accompaniment and Mentoring Internship,” at the Universidad de Córdoba, Monteria (Colombia), from the bachelor’s degree in foreign Languages with an Emphasis in English. This process was conducted with 12 students from the third, fourth to fifth semester of Communication and Grammar courses to provide students with strategies that help them improve their English skills and get better performance in specific subjects, allowing them not to be retention targets or possible cases of dropouts in the future. In this internship, many professionals provide mentors with essential guidance and training throughout the internship, ensuring they are well-prepared to serve as impactful role models and offer a rewarding experience for their mentees. This approach focuses on students as the central element of the internship, with all other participants adjusting to their needs. The Pedagogical Strategies, Methodologies, Gains and Results of this internship are presented in this report along with the conclusions, reflections observed in the mentoring, its limitations and some recommendations for the program and future interns.

    Internship at public institution alfonso spath spath

    This paper is intended to report my internship experience at Institución Educativa Alfonso Spath Spath (INEDAS) located in Martínez, Cereté. The purpose of the internship was to enhance and improve 4th and 5th graders’ academic performance and change their attitude towards learning English as a foreign language. In the process, vocabulary acquisition was sought and therefore the strengthening of the speaking skill which is involved in the communicating process. This report includes brief descriptions of ICTs and the use of Web 2.0 in language teaching/ learning, Communicative Language Teaching, and the Total Physical Response approach. Moreover, it targets the relevant aspects that were part of my internship process such as objectives, problems, as well as the strategies, and means used to address those. Additionally, it highlights the context, limitations, and the opinion I had before starting it while taking part in the experience and after I finish it. Also, it details the impact it had on me, and the possible recommendations for future interns.

    This report aims to describe my lived experience at a Public Institution located in the south of Monteria named Victoria Mansur while developing my internship face to face. This report also describes briefly the main strategies and pedagogies applied to seventh-grade students to boost and increase their oral communication skills and vocabulary taking into account their context and needs. Additionally, the different results gained, pieces of evidence in students´ learning process, and some examples of the main activities performed in class using some approaches such as Collaborative Learning that included think pair share and discussions in small groups; Content-Based Instruction and the implementation of ICTs in teaching. Moreover, my personal and professional growth as a human being and teacher. Finally, some conclusions, recommendations, and suggestions for the incoming interns of the English Program.

    Internship at saber pro cross curricular competencies: english course

    This report describes the internship conducted at Cross Curricular Competencies’ courses in the frame of Saber Pro University of Cordoba Institutional Program. It aims to enhance students’ results on Saber Pro National Test while taking the English course to foster students’ reading skills and meliorate their development on the standard test. This internship was implemented in a student-centered e-learning course and follows a flipped instruction method, which used self-recorded videos and personalized learning guides for the asynchronous phase, and interactive activities and discussions for the synchronous online meetings. The use of ICT was valuable to deliver the English courses through an LMS and reduce transactional distance and sense of isolation resulted from the E-approach. Finally, it discusses the findings, pedagogical gains, conclusions, and limitations faced during this meaningful experience.
