Publicación Acceso abierto Determinación y optimización de la fruta no exportable (merma) en el cultivo de banano (Musa AAA) causado por factores ambientales en la finca Sultana, Apartadó-Antioquia(2022-02-11) Dionicio Petro, Juan Camilo; Narváez Mejía, Humberto ÁngelThe business practice was developed in the Sultana farm located in the municipality of Apartadó-Antioquia in the period from February 2021 to August 2021, this farm is part of the company name Cultivos Tropicana SAS, which is dedicated especially to the production and export of bananas. In the course of the development of the practice, the main objective was to analyze the quality of the fruit, making a profile of a selected bunch from each batch taking 5 samples in each one, it should be noted that in this process several specifications of the bunch are taken as is the length and degree of the fingers found in the sub-basal and apical hands, age of the fruit, number of hands, total weight of the first fruit, total weight of the fruit used or second fruit, stem weight and weight of defects found, in the latter we found defects characterized by harvest, cultivation, diseases and pests and environmental causes, focusing only on nontolerable environmental defects in prime shipments that affect production. In addition, some evaluations were carried out to determine the quality of the fruit during the harvest process, in which the quality of the crew and waste analysis were evaluated.Publicación Acceso abierto Diagnóstico de población de tres clones de la variedad de banano Cavendish (Musa AAA), en la zona de Urabá Antioquia, grupo Agrícola Sara Palma S.A.(2023-07-05) Garcés Álvarez, Fabian Alfonso; Narváez Mejía, Humberto ÁngelThe business practice was carried out in the company Agrícola Sara Palma S.A., which is dedicated on a larger scale to the production and commercialization of banana crops for the international market, in the municipalities of Apartadó, Carepa and Chigorodó; in the region of Urabá-Antioquia (Colombia). The main objective is to diagnose the population of three clones of the Cavendish banana variety (Musa AAA) in the Urabá-Antioquia area. In order to define which of these three clones has the best adaptability in the area. Two completely randomized farms "Caruba" and "Cantho" were chosen, in which two pogos of 7.98 m per lot were made, four per clone and giving a total of twelve pogos, repeating the same twelve, in the lots already selected after eight weeks. At the end, the data obtained were not the expected ones, according to the information obtained in the pogos during the development of the practice, the lots of the clone Gran Enano which are 24 and 25 were the ones that presented a better state in general and better conditions of vigor in AHP and AHC which present an acceptable average in these characteristics of vigor. Although the lots of the Williams clone presented a great state of deterioration, they have better circumference and number of hands, however, these data are not significant. Nevertheless, the Williams clone has a better return when compared to the Valery clone, although one of its limitations is the weeding. The evaluated lots of the Valery clone have the worst characteristics of the three clones, although it is the clone with the best performance in the Urabá area. Publicación Acceso abierto Pérdida del área productiva en un suelo bananero causado por un mal diseño y construcción de canales de drenajes(2023-07-05) Hernández Páez, Juan Pablo; Narváez Mejía, Humberto ÁngelThis business practice was carried out in the company Agrícola Sara Palma S.A. which is dedicated to the production of bananas for export in the municipalities of Apartadó, Carepa and Chigorodó, in the region of Urabá, in the department of Antioquia, Colombia. Different banana crop management activities were carried out to obtain high productivity and excellent quality of the banana fruit, in order to meet the demands that may arise in the purchasing market. Within these activities, emphasis was placed on the design of drainage channels, as well as the need for them to ensure the sustainability of good quality fruit over time. The objective of this business practice was to identify and quantify the productive area lost due to poor design and construction of drainage canals in a banana plantation in the "Horizontes" farm located in the municipality of Carepa-Antioquia. In order to achieve the proposed objective, lots 16, 17 and 18 were selected because they had excess or poorly designed drainage canals, although these were also identified as having canals located on slopes or other characteristics they have, due to the above, it was quantified that each of the lots had a certain area lost due to the construction of the canals, which is 0. 05has, 0.13has and 0.15has respectively, which contributes to the increase in losses that can be generated by erosion of these selected canals, since these will be added to those of the drainage canals that do fulfill their function. Productivity itself is also affected, since due to the area lost by the drainage channels in lots 16, 17 and 18, which have an absence or lack of 85, 221 and 225 plants respectively, which decrease the productivity that these could achieve.
