Objective. Analyze the social determinants that exerted influence in the cases of bite by potentially rabid animals in the Department of Córdoba, between the years 2016 and 2018. Methodology. It is a retrospective epidemiological study, with a quantitative approach, it was carried out from the analysis of 3,251 records from the period from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2018. Results. Age range of reported cases was between 1 and 104 years old; The mode being 10 years and the average 50.25 years influenced by the breadth of the extremes of the range (1 to 104 years), 1 to 14 years accumulates approximately 43% of all cases; homogeneous distribution by sex; cases decrease by two quintiles as age increases; 37 cases that were presented in prioritized groups, it is observed that people with disabilities present higher frequencies; the main injured areas are lower limbs (47.25%), hand-fingers (17.66%) and upper limbs (16.57%); 11 aggressive species were identified, including humans; of 14 existing conditions at the national level for rabies control, Córdoba meets five (5), leaving nine (64.28%) with partial compliance or with unsatisfactory compliance, apparently due to the behavior of the political tradition and Government in relation to partisan interests. The axes of inequality could not be fully assessed, some due to underreporting and others because they were not contained in the file; the urban area territory is the one that concentrates the highest reporting frequencies (99.02%); the main aggressor is the dog (84.56%), 94.37% domestic animals, of them 1.45% are vaccinated, the main injury is the bite (90.7%); low socioeconomic stratum (30% despite underreporting of 68%; statistically significant relationships were identified between age, employment and work conditions (informality) and the age between the bite by a potentially dangerous animal. Conclusions. The structural social determinants that influence In the cases of bite by a potentially rabid animal, they are related to the political management that is given to the program, whose condition prevents the complete development of the protocol for the control and prevention of rabies; the health sector executes all the actions related to the control of risk situations.
