Creación de un lenguaje musical educativo y consciente a través de la adaptación de siete canciones y rondas infantiles tradicionales con niños y niñas del grado jardín y transición del Children’s Garden Agic Kids.

The present research arose from the restlessness caused by the necessity to find a strategy which can give a new meaning to the musical content within children’s songs that are lacking educational messages. For this reason, this project has an unlearning and re-learning structure which allows for the building of an educational language that is conscientious and committed to bettering music that is focused to a children’s audience.
The implementation and diffusion processes of this musical content were made at the Children’s Garden Magic Kids educational institute, by using different artistic disciplines such as plastic, theatrical and musical arts. We worked to internalize the new versions of children’s songs, which are meant to contribute mainly to the integral development of girls and boys.
The type of research of this project was framed by a qualitative paradigm that has research-action participation. Research includes an interpretative and naturalist approach to that study’s subject, and analyzes the student’s artistic abilities.
It’s really important to mention, that the main sample of this project were children of the preschool and kindergarten grades. The research’s methods were diffused throughout the different grades of this institution. Additionally, the project was replicated and shared with the children population close to the social environment of the researchers.
The joint work between teachers, parents, and babysitters was the key to the process of generating critical awareness about consumption of children’s music that currently have a legacy. Collaboration was also crucial in order to guarantee impact and applicability.
Finally, the results of this research led to the creation of “Educantícos”, an artistic-musical book which is a compilation of all the work done in the project. “Educanticos” includes a discography that has an adaptation of the songs: “La Iguana”, “Arroz con Leche”, “La Pájara Pinta”, “Aserrín aserrán”, “Mambrú se fue a la escuela” and “En un bosque del caribe”. Through these songs, children gained artistic inspiration which retains the magical and colorful energy of each musical story.
