The panorama for Colombia is similar, the country has shown significant development, more and more people, companies and economic agents adhere to this type of trade, and place the country among the most representative in Latin America. Considering the above, the current monographic project has as its fundamental objective to evaluate the evolution of digital commerce in Colombia during the 2016-2020 period. To comply with what is proposed, initially the conceptual characteristics of digital commerce, its origin, advantages, disadvantages, types and participants are explained; then, the behavior of digital commerce in Colombia during the 2016-2020 period is examined, exposing the amounts negotiated, the number of transactions, the most used payment methods, the per capita consumption of the country and the events that generated this growth. Finally, a comparative analysis of digital commerce operations in Colombia is carried out during the indicated period, to recognize the periods of greatest development for the country.
