La pasantía tuvo como objetivo seleccionar y propagar árboles de alto rendimiento (árboles plus) del híbrido Eucalipto (Eucalyptus grandis X Eucalyptus urophylla.) en plantaciones de la empresa Reforestadora del Sinú sucursal Colombia. Fue realizada en los rodales semilleros de la empresa en los municipios de Valencia Córdoba, Las Plata Antioquia, Turbo Antioquia y Montería Córdoba donde se encuentra establecido el vivero “La Ribera”. El trabajo consistió específicamente en recorrer los predios semilleros dentro de los municipios donde se encontraban los árboles semillas, para realizar la selección se basó en el método de Zobel y Talbert, donde se seleccionaron individualmente teniendo en cuenta los parámetros fenotípicamente deseados. En la recolección de la semilla se tuvo en cuenta escalar los árboles hasta el tercio medio del árbol donde se encontraban las ramas que cumplían con el parámetro, para el proceso de propagación y multiplicación se tuvo en cuenta las distintas técnicas de propagación a implementar en la empresa: propagación por estaquillado, injerto e inducción de brotes.
