En ella, se adoptó un enfoque de investigación mixto que combinó elementos cuantitativos y cualitativos. Utilizando el paradigma crítico, se examinaron las estructuras de poder y las relaciones de dominación en la sociedad, permitiendo comprender cómo factores políticos, económicos y sociales influyen en la migración y la reconfiguración territorial en El Refugio. Se aplicaron encuestas de caracterización para obtener datos precisos sobre los migrantes venezolanos en el asentamiento. El análisis reveló que El Refugio alberga a una población diversa y en crecimiento, con una alta presencia de migrantes venezolanos que llegaron debido a la crisis en su país de origen. El impacto económico se tradujo en un florecimiento de emprendimientos comerciales y la revitalización de sectores como la agricultura y la construcción, pero también generó desafíos en la planificación territorial y preocupaciones ambientales. Finalmente se formularon recomendaciones para mejorar la atención y el bienestar de los migrantes, incluyendo la formalización de asentamientos informales, caso El Refugio, y la coordinación entre instituciones gubernamentales y organizaciones humanitarias.This research analyzes Venezuelan migration and its impact on the territorial reconfiguration of the city of Arauca, focusing on the El Refugio settlement. A mixed research approach combining quantitative and qualitative elements was adopted. Using the critical paradigm, power structures and relations of domination in society were examined, allowing an understanding of how political, economic and social factors influence migration and territorial reconfiguration in El Refugio. Characterization surveys were applied to obtain accurate data on Venezuelan migrants in the settlement. The analysis revealed that El Refugio is home to a diverse and growing population, with a significant presence of Venezuelan migrants who arrived due to the crisis in their country of origin. The economic impact resulted in a flourishing of commercial ventures and the revitalization of sectors such as agriculture and construction, but also generated challenges in territorial planning and environmental concerns. Finally, recommendations were made to improve the care and welfare of migrants, including the formalization of informal settlements, as in the case of El Refugio, and coordination between government institutions and humanitarian organizations.1.
