A partir de la revisión teórica, conceptual y metodológica, desarrollando un análisis de carácter cualitativo, que usa cortes temporales donde, se eligen uno o varios periodos del pasado que aparecen como significativos y describiendo cada uno de ellos en un estudio regional. Esta investigación analizó hechos geohistóricos, que es importante destacar puesto que la ciudad de Corozal, fue la base del ordenamiento territorial de las Sabanas, desde ella se planificó, la distribución de tierras que hoy estructuran el sistema latifundista de esta subregión del Caribe colombiano.
