The goal was to help them strengthen their communicative skills, particularly in speaking, by focusing on vocabulary building, grammar reinforcement, and personalized feedback. Many of these students struggled with expressing themselves in English, which often affected their confidence and participation. Through weekly mentoring sessions, I perceived not only linguistic improvements but also a boost in motivation and confidence. This experience reaffirmed how meaningful peer support can be in academic life, especially during the early stages of university. The report highlights the impact of guided mentorship in reducing academic challenges and promoting engagement in language learning.IntroductionUnderlying theoriesMentoringOne on one mentoringGroup mentoringCommunicative Language Teaching (CLT)Task-Based Learning (TBL)Teaching methods and strategiesDutiesGainsStudents growth and learningTeacher proffesional growthInstitutional impactConclusions and recommendationsLimitationsReferencesAppendixapplication/pdfengCopyright Universidad de Córdoba, 2025A Mentoring-based approach to enhancing speaking skills through vocabulary and grammar in first-semester students at the University of CórdobaTrabajo de grado - PregradoAtribución-NoComercial-SinDerivadas 4.0 Internacional (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0)info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessMentoriaCompetencias comunicativasExpresión oralApoyo a los estudiantesAprendizaje de idiomasMentoringCommunicative skillsSpeakingStudent supportLanguage learningUniversidad de CórdobaRepositorio Universidad de Córdobahttps://repositorio.unicordoba.edu.co/http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2
