Nieves Julio, Yesenia PatriciaMiranda Pérez, Nadin2024-07-242024-07-242024-07-22https://repositorio.unicordoba.edu.co/handle/ucordoba/8437Las infecciones asociadas a la atención en salud (IAAS) representan un problema de salud pública de gran relevancia, ya que pueden generar complicaciones en los pacientes, prolongar su estancia hospitalaria, aumentar los costos de atención y, en casos extremos, causar la muerte. En este contexto, se justifica la necesidad de implementar estrategias efectivas que permitan identificar, controlar y mitigar este tipo de infecciones en el ámbito de la institución. El objetivo fue implementar un programa integral de prevención y control de IAAS en la E.S.E CAMU Santa Teresita, con el fin de mejorar la calidad y seguridad de la atención brindada a los usuarios de la institución en relación con las IAAS. Se recolectan datos sobre la incidencia, prevalencia, factores de riesgo, agentes etiológicos, áreas críticas, entre otros, mediante técnicas como revisión de registros, encuestas, inspecciones y observaciones. Esto permite tener una línea de base y conocer la situación actual de las IAAS en la entidad. Para la metodología, en primer lugar, se realizó un diagnóstico situacional para evaluar las prácticas actuales de prevención y control de infecciones en la institución. Para ello, se aplicaron técnicas como revisión documental, observación directa de los procesos y entrevistas al personal de salud. Asimismo, se recopilo datos sobre la incidencia y prevalencia de las IAAS a partir de los registros institucionales.Healthcare-associated infections (HAI) represent a significant public health problem as they can lead to complications in patients, prolong hospital stays, increase healthcare costs, and in extreme cases, result in death. In this context, there is a justified need to implement effective strategies to identify, control, and mitigate such infections within the institution. To achieve this, a descriptive observational study will be conducted to perform a situational diagnosis of the institution regarding HAI. Data on incidence, prevalence, risk factors, etiological agents, critical areas, among others, will be collected through techniques such as record review, surveys, inspections, and observations. This allows for establishing a baseline and understanding the current situation of HAI in the facility. Regarding the methodology, initially, a situational diagnosis will be conducted to assess the current infection prevention and control practices in the institution. This will involve techniques such as document review, direct observation of processes, and interviews with healthcare personnel.
