This leadership statement outlines the relevance of promoting leadership in schools, not only to prepare teachers but also to encourage students to be leaders in their academic and professional future. Thus, in this paper, we will provide an original understanding of the several concepts of leadership, their focus on education, our assumptions of the phenomenon, collaborative work, the qualities of empowerment, and implications for future practices in the process of motivating students to be leaders.
