Según el protocolo de Londres, dentro de los factores contributivos para que se desencadene un evento se encuentra el ambiente físico que contribuye al error por ejemplo: deficiente iluminación, hacinamiento, deficiencias en infraestructura, entre otras. Para lograr lo anterior, se realizó una revisión bibliográfica con el objetivo de describir la información que está documentada acerca del impacto que genera la infraestructura de las IPS en la seguridad del paciente en Colombia. Teniendo en cuenta cuán importante es la auditoría dentro de las instituciones de salud y el papel que esta cumple en la evaluación de la calidad de la prestación del servicio, los resultados permitirán al auditor relacionar la información e identificar, si es el caso, la infraestructura como factor contributivo cuando ocurra un evento adverso, o en el ideal que espera el grupo investigador, actuar preventivamente cuando identifique fallas que potencialmente puedan generar daño al paciente.The risk of suffering an adverse event when entering a Health Services Institution will always be present, hence the need to know the causes that may originate them to implement safety barriers that minimize this probability of occurrence.
