La producción de banano es una actividad agrícola de gran impacto en muchas regiones, especialmente en aquellas donde se da este cultivo, ya que permite que la economía de estas zonas y en general la del país se mantengan activa, generando números empleos y permitiendo que se dé un buen desarrollo social. No obstante, también se presentan dificultades con dichas actividades productivas, por diversas condiciones ambientales, en este caso, la enfermedad del Moko, la cual ataca las plantaciones, afectando los haces vasculares de la planta, limitando su producción y finalmente produciendo la muerte de estas. El agente causal de esta enfermedad es la bacteria Ralstonia solanacearum raza 2, quien se puede diseminar a través del suelo, del agua, y las herramientas utilizadas en las labores culturales, por esta razón se deben y tener todo tipo de cuidados. En esta práctica se llevaron a cabo actividades relacionadas con el manejo integrado de la enfermedad, capacitaciones al personal operativo y administrativo de la finca y monitoreos constantes para identificar oportunamente plantas afectadas.The business practice was developed in the region of Urabá, in the La Mónica farm of the company Grupo Central, which is dedicated to the production and export of bananas. Banana production is an agricultural activity of great impact in many regions, especially in those where this crop is grown, as it allows the economy of these areas and the country in general to remain active, generating numerous jobs and allowing for good social development. However, there are also difficulties with these productive activities, due to different environmental conditions, in this case, the Moko disease, which attacks the plantations, affecting the vascular bundles of the plant, limiting its production and finally causing its death. The causal agent of this disease is the bacterium Ralstonia solanacearum race 2, which can be disseminated through soil, water, and the tools used in the cultural work, for this reason all kinds of care must be taken.
