Posteriormente se elaboró un plan de mejora de acuerdo con la situación identificada. Se identifican deficiencias en el registro de historias clínicas, como la ausencia de partogramas, y se observa un índice elevado de remisiones debido a complicaciones graves, como hemorragias postparto e infecciones. Esto refleja una falta de adherencia a protocolos esenciales y a la lista de verificación de la OMS. Los resultados destacan la importancia de la seguridad materno-fetal y de la detección oportuna de complicaciones, alineándose con estudios internacionales de la OMS, UNICEF y la OPS. Además, se evidencia una necesidad urgente de mejorar los recursos, la capacitación del personal y la humanización de los servicios obstétricos para reducir las muertes maternas y garantizar un parto seguro y respetuoso. El trabajo también subraya la importancia de implementar estrategias de humanización propuestas por autores como Fernández, que priorizan el bienestar psicológico y físico de la madre. Finalmente, se concluye que mejorar la calidad de la atención en centros de primer nivel es fundamental para cumplir con los estándares internacionales y garantizar la salud materna y neonatal.This study examines the compliance with minimum safety requirements during childbirth care at a primary healthcare institution in Nechi, Antioquia. Deficiencies were identified in clinical records, such as the absence of portograms, and a high rate of referrals due to severe complications, including postpartum hemorrhages and infections. These findings highlight a lack of adherence to essential protocols and the WHO's safety checklist. The results emphasize the importance of maternal and fetal safety and the timely detection of complications, aligning with international studies by WHO, UNICEF, and PAHO. Moreover, there is an urgent need to improve resources, staff training, and the humanization of obstetric services to reduce maternal deaths and ensure a safe and respectful childbirth experience. The study also underscores the importance of implementing humanization strategies proposed by authors such as Fernández, which prioritize the psychological and physical well-being of mothers.
