Objetivo: Diseñar un programa de prevención y control de infecciones (PCI) en la ESE CAMU Momil, que fortalezca la seguridad del paciente y contribuya a la calidad de la atención en salud. Metodología: Se realizó mediante la aplicación de cinco fases que permitieron el diseño y despliegue del programa en mención. Resultados y Conclusiones: El programa contribuyó al fortalecimiento de la seguridad del paciente y de las capacidades institucionales para la prevención y el control de infecciones en la ESE CAMU Momil; lo cual mejora la satisfacción del paciente, relacionada con la percepción que estos tienen sobre la calidad de la atención recibida. Todo lo anterior contribuyendo a una mejor imagen de la ESE CAMU Momil como una institución comprometida con la calidad y la seguridad del paciente.It is recognized that Health Care Associated Infections represent a global public health problem, negatively impacting the quality of life of patients, increasing hospital costs and generating antimicrobial resistance.
