The research sought to analyze the exposure conditions and their relationship with levels of mercury in hair in the population that inhabits the Atrato river basin in the municipality of Turbo-Antioquia. Sociodemographic and environmental conditions were described in the study area. Mercury titrations in hair of the population at risk were estimated and the possible relationship between these and the sociodemographic and environmental conditions in the population was determined. The analysis was carried out using SPPS vr software. 24, Excel 2016, applying a multiple logistic regression model, estimating the relative risk "odds ratio" (OR) with confidence intervals (95% CI) and in the multiple analysis, significance values p 1µg / g), identifying a greater proportion of affectation in men (58.8%) and in the group of economically active people (15 -44 years; 45.1%). Mercury levels above the threshold were found in 15 years with 20.3%. The signs and symptoms that were evidenced with the highest proportion in 15 years. Research constitutes a technical input to formulate public health policies, plans, and programs considering the social determinants of health. It responds to legal requirements such as judgment T-622 of 2016 issued by the Honorable Constitutional Court, contributing to the realization of the right to life, health and a healthy environment.
