Rice is one of the most important cereals for humanity, it is the staple food in many cultures; is the second this grain most cultivated cereal. It provides a high nutritional content, whose grain does not contain fructose, is highly digestible, low-fat, high in carbohydrates, vitamin B, calcium, phosphorus, iron, sodium and potassium. It is one of the main agricultural products of several countries. In Colombia it is cultivated in different regions, however productivity is conditioned on the availability of varieties adapted to the soil and climatic conditions where it is produced and the agronomic management of the crop. The professional practice developed at the company Agroconstrucciones Dajoma S.A.S on the estate of the Zone located in the municipality of Pueblo Nuevo in the department of Córdoba, Colombia. The main objective was the adequacy, establishment and supervision of 185 hectares of rice with the genetic material or variety Fedearroz 473 at a population density of 120 kg.ha1 and its agronomic performance. A complex of activities were made for the agronomic management of rice as soil preparation, irrigation, planting, fertilization, weed control, pests and diseases. The experience and the result presented or obtained on the farm were positive and the agronomic performance was finally exhibited with an average yield of 7.5 tons of rice per hectare for commercialization and industrialization.
