The work aptitude of the workers is determined by medical specialists in occupational health through the realization of occupational exams that can determine if a person is able or not to develop a job. Currently in Latin America and especially in Colombia, this work aptitude is based more on common sense and the criteria of the medical specialist than on scientific reasoning or structured methodologies. This situation in different countries is due to the lack of clear normative guidelines that stipulate rigorously criteria to be taken into account to determine if a person is considered fit or not to perform an activity, this represents an aggravating factor especially if a worker goes to carry out work considered high risk or that can potentially lead to a work accident such as work at height. Therefore, it is necessary that when determining the work aptitude of a worker is done through clear and concise criteria, which allow a comprehensive analysis of the worker and in turn provide a reliable and truthful attitude opinion.
