    Lifelong professional development: empowering foreign language teachers

    The new era of teacher-leaders will generate a powerful impact on the educational process and the acquisition of these leadership skills is increasing, which will incorporate significant development into the learning processes. Fostering leadership in schools is a very important and productive process for all members of the educational community, especially for teachers and students, because a teacher-leader will know how to guide the educational processes in order to implement leadership by showing their learners the importance of this in all walks of life. Thus, in this article, we will provide several concepts of leadership, including our assumptions, collaborative work, leadership empowerment, and implications for the future of our teaching work to encourage our students to be leaders. Our goal is to develop leadership strategies so that as future educators we can carry out innovative projects that implement and strengthen teamwork so that they inspire our students to be leaders too.

    Leadership at the institutional level is challenging; seen as a competition among students it can be a source of contention, and it is because of this competition, even at the group level, that the ability of each individual to contribute to one another is essential in their personal growth. The best way to achieve this is to create collaborative groups and divide the work among them so they would, individually, take responsibility for the collective good, exercise, and demonstrate leadership by reflecting on their part with their peers, awakening their curiosity, and inspiring them to do it on their own. This document focuses on transformational leadership, which is the basis for changing students' mindsets to a more critical one, encouraging them to generate new ideas, being more considerate of their peers, being good listeners, and being adaptable to their circumstances. The proposed plan in the document aims to improve student learning in each school, regarding the environment and culture in which the lessons are taught.

    Leadership is nowadays considered one of the most important skills of the last century. It is present in our everyday life and happens in every place from a simple classroom to a big company. According to Daft (2008), Leadership involves influence, it occurs among people, and those people intentionally desire significant changes, and the changes reflect purposes shared by leaders and followers. In this sense, leadership is not only making individual decisions but working according to what surrounds us to achieve objectives and purposes; leadership is about how much we can inspire the ones who surround us.

    Through the years, schools strive to see how helpful and effective learning development is in promoting leadership skills. This personal leadership statement indicates the importance of leadership in education, our qualities, strategies, and future practices as future leaders. Thus, in this paper, we will set out our current leadership understanding with regard to the different concepts of leadership focusing on education, our assumptions, collaborative work, and the quality of empowerment. The plan is to empower and incorporate the leadership role to develop the strategies and guide proposed in the statement.

    The educational field is a big place where schools and people in charge need to awaken and realize that leadership empowerment is essential nowadays in our educational system. To achieve it, principals, schools, and teachers need to be open-minded and collaborative with the resources provided to change the perceptions and accept the challenge to be an empowered teacher leader. This paper focuses on and describes teacher leadership empowerment in the educational process. This course prepared all of us to perceive our qualities as leaders and how to use them for the community we belong to, this leadership statement stated the importance and advantages of leadership empowerment in schools.

    Prior to anything else, it's important to note that leadership and empowerment are topics that have recently received attention from the community at large as well as from instructors and students. In order to properly include leadership and empowerment into education, both individually and collectively, we first define these terms. This personal leadership statement emphasizes the skills and resources required to be an effective leader. Additionally, it is founded on earlier studies that have shown how effective leadership is in diverse areas of human engagement. Finally, our direct implication in leadership and empowerment which enables us to be a catalyst for positive change in not only our followers but also everyone around us.

    ABSTRACT The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the significance of teacher leadership and the definition of leadership and the qualities of a leader. In addition to defining teacher empowerment, describing leadership empowerment, and its benefits for those in the community, to encourage teachers to be effective leaders process at the same time it has the aim to empower students to achieve together a goal in the academic environment and be empowered to prove valuable classes. Additionally, this article provides the authors' assumptions, possible impacts, training knowledge, and personal aims and expectations as future teachers to have proper classroom management and effectively manage the classes.

    This article aims to show the importance of teacher leadership, its concept, and the characteristics of a leader. In addition to defining teacher's empowerment, describing leadership empowerment, and its benefits for people around, with the purpose to encourage teachers to be good leaders and be empowered to develop classes in a better way. Likewise, this article contains personal assumptions, implications for the future, experience throughout the course, and the personal goals and expectations of the authors as future teachers, and thus be able to have adequate management in the classroom and develop the classes effectively.

    As leaders, we see ourselves as capable and creative people who are always looking forward to inspiring and encouraging the people around us. We believe that this is the goal of leadership: to motivate and influence others to do their best. As a team, we are always working towards improving our skills and abilities, which has been possible because of the good relationship, communication and leadership spirit we have. Moreover, we have learned important values and lessons useful not only for professional growth but also as individuals in our daily life, and have gained knowledge from each other; but most importantly, we trust and respect one another as a group. All these important principles we have strengthened during the time we have worked together became the basis we need to be great leaders.

    Nowadays, lots of people want to be called "teachers" simply for teaching a subject or topic. However, being a teacher is not merely about teaching grammar or pronunciation; it is also about teaching them to keep strong when they have a problem. In the future, the passion we have for teaching will be reflected in the classroom, transmitting meaningful knowledge, that is, useful knowledge for the students, showing ourselves as good examples of citizens committed to our country and with a high sense of belonging. Humility teaches us that the true protagonists of learning are not us but our students. Humility feeds on listening, i.e., active and empathetic listening to the students, their feelings, emotions, and knowledge. All in all, ourselves as leaders for our students. Leaders that they love for accepting each other as they are. We will also guide them to understand that they are unique and valuable.

    The objective of this essay is to know and learn about the importance and essence of leadership in English language teachers; what goals are expected to be achieved as future teachers of a second language, and what challenges or changes can be assumed or faced in a professional future. As the first point of the content; the leaders' profile of the document's authors, which reflects how they are seen in the future as professional leaders. Then, the introduction to the essay, which talks about the different definitions that leadership has, in its general essence and nature. The third content deals with the assumptions that exist in education and how those assumptions are used to improve as teacher leaders. The fourth content consists of the definition of leadership empowerment and the implications for the future, including the pandemic situation due to the Covid-19 virus and prospective plans for the future as teachers. As a conclusion, an overview is established on the influence of leadership for the improvement of future second language teachers.

Second, it presents a background of the importance that leadership has had in mankind through history. Likewise, this paper defines our concept of leadership in education and shows the different leadership styles, emphasizing in authentic leadership. Finally, it also points out our assumptions, reflecting about some aspects that teachers should take into account to be good leaders and the relation that empowerment has in the education system.

    As future teacher leaders we want to encourage and inspire others to be better and surpass themselves to become greater human beings. Using leadership in different areas of our lives gave us a wider vision about the meaning of working as a team, how to guide others and provide them with the necessary tools to accomplish a common goal with positive results. It is important to highlight that motivation is one of our biggest strengths, we all have leading roles in the team and we encourage each other to work hard, do our best and be self-assure of our capacities because a successful leader always remains confident in challenging situations. Likewise, we learnt about integrity and proper communication among others, creating good interpersonal relations based on respect and understanding to work effectively.
