This article analyzes the habituality of women’s formal occupation in the municipalities of the department of Córdoba, in 2016, being the latest data published by Fuente de Información Laboral de Colombia (FILCO) on this subject. Spatial autocorrelation techniques, such as the Morans I, cluster and outlier analysis (Anselin local Morans I), were used for their development, since they analyze the presence of clustering or associations of 2 a variable, through different spatial entities, It is complemented with the identification of hot spots, by means of the high/low clustering (Getis-Ord general G) and the hot spot analysis (Getis-Ord Gi*) identifying hot and cold spots, from high and low values. The results show a pattern of randomness in the periods of 1, 5, 10 and 12 months, with high values in the municipality of Montería, low values in the north of the department. The largest number of formal occupations was found in 10-month contracts. There is a thematic inequality between municipalities due to the variability of values, making San José de Uré the municipality with the lowest demand for formal female jobs.

This section highlights the importance of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and their applicability in the area of urban growth, because they allow to determine accurately and spatially represent the occupation of the territory, where social, economic, environmental factors, among others, are involved. From this, GIS and Multicriterio Evaluation (EMC) were used under the Booleana Logic in order to determine optimal areas for residential occupation, (towers of multifamily apartments) in the city of Montería (Colombia), around 355,317 inhabitants, who have put pressure on urban growth. The results show an optimal area of 15000 square meters located on the north-eastern side of Montería, within Commune Number Eight, an area that has an optimal capacity to house new residential facilities, based on an analysis that involves social, environmental and accessibility aspects. Highlighting the importance of the north-eastern part of the city as a new focus of growth, in terms of optimal location and recent urban developments.
